Summer Swallow

“One swallow does not a summer make.” In some cultures, the swallow is a symbol of love, loyalty, and hope; in others, it represents family.  During the Victorian era, swallow brooches were often given to loved ones embarking on a journey, serving as a token of protection and safe passage.

This artwork, created with watercolour, ink, and pencil on 300gsm hot-pressed paper, is further enhanced by a delicate background of gold leaf. Measuring approximately 7 x 7 inches, it is presented mounted in a crisp white mount and set within a white wooden frame, ready to hang.
